How to create a language pack

Nagios Business Process View and Nagios Business Impact Analysis is multilingual
software (i18n). If You install it, there are only two languages available, 
english(en) and german(de). Language packs for other languages are available
at nagiosexchange.org

If You find Your language not supported at the moment, maybe You want to 
translate. Before You start, please send an eMail to bp-addon@gluga.de
telling which language You want to translate to. This helps to avoid double work.
(Maybe someone else is translating to Your language at the moment.) 

First thing would be to translate Short_Introduction_Nagios_Business_Process_en.pdf
into <something>_<ab>.pdf
Where <something> is the translation of "Short_Introduction_Nagios_Business_Process"
and <ab> is the international two letter abbreviation of Your language.
(this step is mandatory if You want to publish Your language pack)

Next thing: You change to the language directory:
In version 0.9.0 and 0.9.1 this is the sbin directory of Your installation path
(default location /usr/local/nagios-ext/sbin)
In version 0.9.2 and above this is the directory share/lang 
(default location /usr/local/nagiosbp/share/lang)
 <install_dir>/share/lang/ and copy i18n_en.txt to 
i18n_<ab>.txt
Now You translate all the strings on the right hand side of = in every line to
Your language.
For this file, the character set is very important: 
If You use any characters which are not represented in 7-bit ASCII
(that means almost everything besides a-z A-Z 0-9)
than make sure, the character set You are using is ISO-8859-1
or even better: 
transcode all extended characters for usage in HTML as described e. g. under
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_XML_and_HTML_character_entity_references
If extended characters are transcoded, almost all users can display them
correctly without problems.
(no further configuration is needed. As soon as the file i18n_<ab>.txt exists 
in the language directory, the tool offers <ab> as additional language)
(this step is mandatory too)

Now You translate the file how_to_install_language_packs.txt into
<name>.txt
(this step is mandatory too)

If You got even more time, You could translate INSTALL and README files too
and save them as INSTALL.<ab> and README.<ab>
(this step is optional)

At last You create a file called AUTHOR containing a string like
Translation to <language> by <name> (<company>) <email-address>
(company is optional)
(this step is mandatory again)

Probably the language pack You created would be of interest for other users too.
So it would be a great thing, if You would share it with others.
If You want to do so, please test your translation well and then mail all the
files to bp-addon@gluga.de and also tell me, which version of 
Nagios Business Process View You did use.

By mailing the file to me, you agree that they are published under the terms
of GNU Public License (GPL) version 2.
And remember: You will be the maintainer of the language pack. On any new 
release I need Your assistance again to translate everything new, because I 
do not speak Your language.
